The host had the upper hand, or in this case, donned the winning txapela at the 37th World Mus Championships, that took place this week in Cancun.  Second place went to the team from Venezuela, followed by Euskadi.  The championship left the participants with great memories, in spite of the persistent rain. They enjoyed a week of games and activities in this beautiful part of Mexico.

Cancun, Mexico.  The World Mus Championships concluded on Sunday with the finals being won by Mexico’s first team composed of Jose Iraizoz and Juan Jose Echenique.  Since Mexico was the hosting country they were allowed two teams.

Second place went to Venezuelan team made up of Jose Luis Ramos and Mariano Larrañaga, while third place went to Euskadi, made up of Edurne Blanco Laborda and Lorenzo Gonzalez.

The weather didn’t cooperate and made some of the activities planned for the muslaris and their companions more difficult.  Despite the rain, a good time was had by all, as seen in pictures that have been posted daily on the tournament’s Facebook page.  We have gathered some of them and invite our readers to enjoy the extensive coverage of the event by visiting this page.

Next year’s championship will take place in Argentina, according to the federation.
