Donostia-San Sebastián. Ikerbasque (Basque Foundation for Science, headquartered in Bilbao) has launched a new international call with 10 permanent spots for researchers who wish to carry out long-term projects in Euskadi.  The call is aimed at: Established Researchers with at least 8-12 years of experience as Research Associates; and Senior Leading Researchers, more experienced researchers like Research Professors.  See here.

Ikerbasque is making a special effort to recover research personnel who have carried out their research outside of the Basque Country.  Among the personnel attracted to the Basque Country, there are also Basque descendants.  Applications from women are especially welcome.

Currently there are 290 researchers at Ikerbasque from 36 countries.  Fifty three percent of these are Specialists in Experimental Sciences, 22% are in medicine and life science, 13% are engineers and technology experts and the remaining 12% are in the social sciences, some of these at prestigious centers around the world like MIT, and Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford Universities, the CNRS or the Max Planck Association.

Deadline to apply is September 10th through Ikerbasque’s website. See here.
