FEVA will hold partial elections on April 22nd for board members; only one list of candidates has been presented

The General Assembly to elect part of FEVA’s board of directors will be held on April 22nd at 9:30am at the Laurak Bat Basque Club in Buenos Aires.  Offices to be filled are first and second vice-presidents, four directors and their alternates, auditors, and members of the Honor Court again with their alternates.  The only list presented and formalized is led by Juan Jose Olasagastia and Arantxa Anitua, as first and second Vice-Presidents respectively. 

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The Basque clubs that comprise the Federation of Basque-Argentine Entities will have elections, this time filling vacancies created by the end of some of the officers’ terms.  Among the offices to be filled are the vice-presidents and four directors, among others.  At the deadline to present candidates, only one list had been received.  If voting goes as expected the following will be elected:

-First Vice-President: Juan José Olasagastia, personal position. Two-year Term.
-Second Vice-President: María Aranzazu Anitua, personal position. Two-year Term.

-Director: Asier Iriberri Plazaola; alternate, Ignacio Javier Oreja - Denak Bat, Mar del Plata. Two-year Term.
-Director: Damián Cebey; alternate, Juan Carlos Tisera - 
Euzkal Etxea, San Nicolás. Two-year Term.
-Director: Gerardo Bautista Echeverria; alternate, Darío Zumendi - Euzko Etxea, Villa María. Two-year Term.
-Director: Pablo Martín Pavesa; alternate: Yesica Garmendia - Guillermo Larregui, Chacabuco. Two-year Term.

-Auditor: Alicia Aguirre - Denak Bat, Mendoza. One-year Term.
-Auditor: Elba Lydia Mocoroa - Gerora, Córdoba. One-year Term.
-Auditor: Ana Victoria Idígoras - Euskaldunak Denak Bat, Arrecifes. One-year Term.

-Honor Court: Xabier Olaizola (Buenos Aires), Felipe Ernesto Muguerza (Necochea), Carlos Sosa (Bahía Blanca). Two-year Term.
-Honor Court alternates: María Luz Arteche (Arrecifes), Juan Pedro de Erquiaga (Buenos Aires), Miguel Julián Ezquerro (Buenos Aires) Two-year Term.

Along with the call to elections, FEVA also reminds “entities with more than six months of activity as a federation members can send two delegates to the Assembly, a delegate and an alternate, counting only one vote for the delegate, except in the absence of the delegate, when the alternate would vote.  For entities who have been part of the federation for less than six months, they have the right to send one delegate, but without a vote.”

“In all cases, delegates must be members of the club that they represent, at least 21 years of age, and should be duly accredited by a note from the Basque club.  Basque clubs must be up to do date with FEVA’s treasury and present proof of memberships and current legal status.”

The event will take place on April 22nd at 9:30 at the Laurak Bat Basque Club (Belgrano 1144) in the capital city.
