FEVA will elect a new president in April after its Basque Clubs general meeting in Olavarria on March 17-18

The first Basque clubs meeting organized by FEVA in 2018 will take place at the Gure Etxe Maitea Basque Club in Olavarria on the weekend of March 17-18.  Each club is invited to send two representatives who can RSVP until March 9.  It is worth reminding everyone too that the elections for the board of directors of FEVA will take place in April, including choosing a new president.  After two terms, current FEVA President, Hugo Andiazabal, will need to vacate his place to whoever wins the election. 

Olavarria, Argentina.   The Federation of Basque Entitles in Argentina holds two Basque club general meetings a year in hopes that board members from various clubs get to know each other and strengthen ties as well as receive training on how to manage their institutions.  The first meeting of 2018 will take place in Olavarria, organized by the Gure Etxe Maitea Basque Club that will include theoretical and practical activities.

The meeting agenda follows:

SATURDAY, MARCH 17

-10:30hs, opening of the meeting and greetings from FEVA officials
-11-13:30hs, programs and proposals for Basque clubs from the Basque Government, workshop coordinated by Mariana Satostegui (technician) and Nerea Oreja (intern) at the Basque Government Delegation
-13:30hs, Lunch
-15-18hs, Identification of Basque club problems/conflicts.  Analysis and proposal of solutions, workshop coordinated by Ana Idígoras from the Euskaldunak Denak Bat Basque Club in Arrecifes
-18-18:30hs, Break
-18:30-21:30hs, Workshops in gastronomy, mus and tamborrada
-21:30hs, Dinner (enjoying what was made in the gastronomy workshop)

SUNDAY, MARCH 18

-10hs: Continuation of Saturday afternoons activities (Identification of Basque club problems/conflicts.  Analysis and proposal of solutions. Conclusions
-13hs: Lunch and closure

FEVA reminds all clubs that they can send two representatives.  The Federation will cover all expenses associated with the stay, lodging and meals while each club is in charge of covering any travel costs.  You should RSVP by March 9 at 5pm by emailing: feva2000@fibertel.com.ar, indicating your name, and ID number, as well as if lodging is required on Saturday.

FEVA Presidential Elections

According to FEVA’s statutes, the board of directors needs to be elected this year including the offices of president, secretary, treasurer and four directors who will serve for the 2018-2020 term.  Elections will be part of the General Assembly that will take place at Laurak Bat on April 21.  The deadline to present nominations is one month prior to this date.
