Buenos Aires Euskaltzaleak resumes its Film Series with “Amama” and a visit by its star, Iraia Elias

The Argentinean Euskaltegi has published its Basque class Schedule for 2016.  The course will begin on Monday, April 4 along, in four sites simultaneously.  Several of their other offerings also begin in the coming days including their Basque Film Series that will begin on March 18 with Amama.  After the film, those present will have the chance to talk to actress Iraia Elias, at the club’s first get-together of the year. 

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   This is the fifth year in a row that the Basque Film Series has been organized by Euskaltzaleak thanks to film buff, Carlos Gabilondo.  The first film of the year 2016 will be Amama, by Asier Altuna, that will be shown at the Euskaltegi on March 18 ad 20:30.  Film star from Zarautz, Iraia Elias, will be in attendance and will speak with the audience and answer questions after the film.

After bthe screening of Amama, the club invites everyone to its first 2016 get-together for traditional pintxos and calamari.  The event will take place at the club fa cilities on Bernardo de Irigoyen 826.  Please RSVP by emailing: euskaltzaleak@yahoo.com.ar.

Basque classes

In regards to the beginning of the school year, 2016, classes will begin on April 4 providing various levels and modes of learning to anyone interested.  In addition, the Euskaltegi will have classes at three different sites as well as those that it provides at its headquarters.  The schedule follows:

Beginning Euskera 1A, 4 hours a week or with two additional hours online

-Tuesday and Thursday from 19-21:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA)
-Tuesday from 17-19:00 at the Alfonsina Storni Cultural Center (Arenales 2113, Florida) 
-Wednesday from 18-20:00 at Lincoln College (Olleros 2283, Belgrano)
-Thursday from 12-14:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA) (Ask about this class to determine level).

First Continuation 1B, face to face as well as online complement

-Monday from 17-19:00, at Lincoln College (Olleros 2283, Belgrano)
-Friday from 18-20:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA)
-Saturdays from 9-11:00 at Versalles (Barragán 880)

Second 2A, face to face as well as online complement

-Monday from 19-21:00 at Olleros 2283, Lincoln College (Olleros 2283, Belgrano)
-Tuesday from 15-17:00 at the Alfonsina Storni Cultural Center (Arenales 2113, Florida) 

Second 2B

-Monday and Thursday from 19-21:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA)

Intermediate

-Monday and Wednesday from 10-12:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA)

Advanced

-Monday and Thursday from 15-17:00 at Euskaltzaleak (Bdo de Irigoyen 826, CABA)

Besides these courses, for anyone who can’t attend in person, there are also online options, starting with beginners, using the Moodle platform along with personalized tutoring.  For more information on this option, email: idiomavasco@gmail.com.

Choir

Euskaltzaleak’s Choir will begin practicing today and this year, 2016, will be directed by Ignacio Esquiroz. Practices will be on Wednesdays from 20-21:30 at Euskaltzaleak, and as always, the repertoire is in Basque.

In addition, Euskaltzaleak will participate in activities organized by other communities in Buenos Aires. The first in 2016 will take place on Saturday, March 13, at the Community Food Patio.  The event begins at 14:00 on Av. de Mayo y Bolívar.
