Buenos Aires, Argentina. Las Virulentas is a collective comprised by feminists from 11 countries that have gathered with the aim of increasing the awareness of the audience, especially young consumers, about the inequalities in the entertainment industry.  “When women watch a series or movies, we look for role models.  However, women are underrepresented in all aspects of this industry,” they explain.

To provide visibility to this situation and begin with a series of contents in this regard, the Collective chose the figure of Itziar Ituño, “known for her captivating interpretation of inspector Raquel Murillo, who has been a source of inspiration for many women,” making a documentary about the career and reality of the Bizkaian actress.

The Woman that Rebels includes original material and hopes not only to “share a feminist perspective of the series,” but also consider the great variety of projects that Ituño has participated in.  The original script is in Spanish, but has been translated into Basque, German, French, English, Portuguese, Romanian and Italian.
