Saturday will be a big day for culture in Zuberoa, thanks to the premier of the film, conceived, filmed and produced in the dialect of that province. The film speaks of the dream of a young Basque who wants to be a writer, and who looks to his uncle for advice, a Basque working in Hollywood as a screenwriter, but now lives isolated from the world in a cabin in the mountains. The film is directed by new comer Peio Cachenaut and was produced by the cultural associations Hebentik and Aldudarrak Bideo, with the participation of producer Baleuko. The film was already distributed in Hegoalde, but paradoxically not in Iparralde. “It is a shame that the movie was done in Maule and it can be seen in Hegoalde, but not in Baiona,” Mixel Etxekopar, from Hebentik, told EuskalKultura.com. Those responsible for distribution are now looking for places in Iparralde.

The exchange among the teachers is one of the key points of the workshop that will take place at Barcelona’s Basque club.
