Thanks to the association “Manos Amigas-Esku Lagunak,” the Euzko Txokoa Basque Club in Gral. Acha, La Pampa, is participating in the National Special Olympics in soccer, track and swimming. The colors of the Ikurriña have taken their places various times on the podium, especially thanks to swimmers, Santiago Perez and Anabela Romero, who took first and third places in free style and the breaststroke respectively.

The Basque Government and the Provincial Government of Bizkaia honored “child of war,” Paulita Lopez Gonzalez, with a visit from Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alvarez, and the Deputy of Social Action in Bizkaia, Isabel Sanchez, at her residence. Born in 1928, Paulita was evacuated to the Soviet Union when she was only 9. Now at the age of 90, she is back in Bizkaia where she lives at a residence in her hometown of Trapagaran.

The group led by Aitor Alava taught its fifth dance workshop at the Tandil Basque club, this time for 30 dantzaris from clubs in the area. The long day included both theory and practice, and concluded with a dinner where the groups could show the dances they learned.

At an event especially attended by youth, Euskaltzaleak was the site of the first Mintzodromo in the area and another Triki-poteo through the streets of San Telmo. Euskaltegi sources stressed the attendance of Basque teachers and students from La Plata, Necochea, as well as a large group of locals including dantzaris, and musicians from Laurak Bat, Centro Navarro, Denak Bat from Cañuelas, and an authentic koadrilla of Basque exchange students (see video).
