The Basque-Argentine Foundation Juan de Garay recently evaluated its 2018 activities. Stand outs include their weekly Tuesday activity, as part of its cultural cycle, organized by Jorge Beramendi that included films projections, talks and presentations in 31 meetings, with 8 films and 23 presentations, followed by as many dinners, as well as Basque language class with 24 lessons.

Boiseko Ikastola is looking for a teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The eligible person will take care of students between the ages of 3-5 and will begin in August of this year. Requirements include fluency in Euskera and a good knowledge of English, a university degree or equivalent in pre-k education or elementary, and at least two years’ experience in a similar position.

2018 brought a very special present to La Plata with Euzko Etxea’s recuperation of one of its historic titles: the Eguzkia magazine that was published in La Plata from 1973 to 1977. In march the club recovered the masthead for the new quarterly magazine. With a new format, design and contents the new Eguzkia can now be read and downloaded free of charge online.

We sadly received the news of the passing of Alazne Iruretagoyena on December 26th in Macachin in La Pampa Argentina. Born in Zarautz (Gipuzkoa), Alazne Iruretagoyena Peñagaricano passed away at the age of 83 in Macachin where she resided.
