Last Saturday, one day before Sunday the 21st , the Euskal Echea School in Llavallol --32 kilometers West to the City of Buenos Aires-- became once again the meeting point for this Txiki Gathering that FEVA carries out every year to create a fun place for Basque club children.  The event gathered 400 people among children, and adults, for a day that was qualified by organizers as being a great success.

Llavallol, Argentina. Delegations from Basque clubs in Arrecifes, Laurak Bat in Buenos Aires, Cañuelas, Guillermo Larregui in Chacabuco, Chascomus, General Rodriguez, Jose C. Paz, La Plata, Lomas de Zamora, Maipu, Tandil and from the Euskal Echea school from its both locations in the city of Buenos Aires and in Llavallol participated last Saturday in the 17th edition of this Annual Txiki Gathering organized by FEVA, the federation of Basque Argentinean organizations.  The event was also attended by Izaskun Ordoqui Urcelay, representing the hosting club, and Arantxa Anitua who greeted the participants on behalf of FEVA.

As every year, the day began with breakfast, “essential fuel” for those clubs that traveled hundreds of kilometers to participate.  Around 10am, after having organized teams by age, the games and contests began.  There was no lack of obstacle races, the traditional soka-tira or imaginative contests.  There were also dances, with live music provided by Dani Oiarbide and Ignacio Baña on the trikitixa and Mauro Uranga and Ioar Oteiza on the panderoa.

Following tradition, the delegations exchanged postcards, on this occasion with the theme “Nire herriko postala (postcard from my city).” The gathering concluded with a huge kite flying and the choreography “Gora behera.”  FEVA would like to thank all the participations and everyone who collaborated and contributed to the organization of the event.  (See images here).
