Closed.

Javier Ortega, a native of Donostia, along with his Texan wife Debra, opened this restaurant in 1998. It has a good reputation and a enthusiastic clientele.

As the name suggests, this is a "pintxo" (Basque for tapas) place. The menu is not exclusively Basque, but the Basque dishes earn the spotlight. It has a small wine list with nice choices, including Basque and Spanish wines.

Some of the dishes: Baby squid in its own ink, gambas a la plancha (a half dozen big prawns), peppers sautéed in olive oil with garlic, peppers stuffed with creamy pureed cod, anchovy fillets marinated in olive oil and garlic, lamb chops, lubina salsa verde (sea bass in a mild green sauce), octopus, chorizo, croquettes, stuffed mussels... The wine list includes white txakolin (pronounced cha-ko-leen).
