The club was formed by former jai-alai players in Rhode Island and Connecticut after closing Newport Jai-Alai in 2003. It was founded under the name of Rhode Island Basque Club and passed in 2014 to its current denomination. They practice and perform exhibitions of herri kirolak. They celebrate festivals connected to the sea, such as Andra Mari Arrantzale Eguna in August; also Txitxiburduntzi, Olentzero... They prepared a new step for June 23rd, 2018 organizing the New London Basque Festival.
