General Store and Basque postcards, jewelry and souvenirs

Anacabe's Elko General Merchandise has been the reference point and store for the Basques of Elko 'for ever'. Joe Anacabe from Berriatu and his wife Fabiana Goenaga started the store in 1924 in McDermitt, Nevada. They moved it to Elko in 1936. Anita Anacabe Franzoia, the daughter of Joe Anacabe and his second wife Margari Olabe, manages the store. Besides working clothes, Elko General Merchandise sells Basque jewelry, calendars, postcards, and some Basque souvenirs.
