The new Basque Communities Advisory Board celebrated its first meeting of the new legislature

Last week’s Official Bulletin of the Basque Country, included the Lehendakari’s decree renewing members of its Advisory Board, after the electoral process and changes in some of the entities that comprise it.  The new Advisory Board met on March 1.  Basque club representatives at the meeting were: Arantxa Anitua (Argentina), Nerea Palacios (Mexico) and Unai Lauzirika (Germany).

Vitoria-Gasteiz.   These are members of the Advisory Board appointed by the Lehendakari, at the proposal of each of the institutions represented, according to the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Agintzaritzaren Aldizkaria (BOPV-EHAA):

-President: Iñigo Urkullu Renteria, President of the Basque Government.
-Vice-president: María Angeles Elorza Zubiria, Secretary General of Foreign Action.
-Secretary: Gorka Alvarez Aramburu, Director of the Basque Community Abroad.

MEMBERS

-Yurdana Burgoa Valtierra, representative in the area of finance, from the Department of Finance and Economy.
-José Ignacio Bañuelos Ibáñez, representative in the area of Education, from the Department of Education.
-Miren Begoña Arzallus Loroño, representative in the area of Culture, from the Department of Culture and Linguistic Policy.
-María Ainhoa Ondarzabal Izaguirre, representative in the area of Industry, from the Department of economic Development and Infrastructure.
-Isabel Muela López, representative in the area of Commerce, from the Department of Tourism, Commerce and Consumers.
-Maider Echevarría García, representative in the area of Commerce, from the Department of Tourism, Commerce and Consumers.
-Elena Pérez Barredo, representative in the area of Employment and Social Security, from the Department of Employment and Justice.
-Pedro Javier Jáuregui Fernández, representative in the area of Housing, from the Department of Environment, Spatial Planning and Housing.
-Nekane Zeberio Ganzarain, representative of the Provincial Government of Araba.
-Koldo Atxutegi Ajuria, representative of the Provincial Government of Bizkaia.
-Iker Goiria Etxebarria, representative of the Provincial Government of Gipuzkoa.
-Imanol Landa Jauregui, representative of Basque Town Halls.
-Jone Berriozabal Bóveda, representative of the Basque Parliament.
-Jasone Agirre Garitaonandia, representative of the Basque Parliament.
-Jon Zarate Sesma, representative of the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.
-María Aránzazu Anitua Marsan, representative of the Basque Clubs.
-Lorea Palacios Urquiola, representative of the Basque Clubs.
-Aitor Arruti Aizpurua, representative of the Basque Clubs.

Representing Basque Clubs at the meeting were: Arantxa Anitua (Argentina), Lorea Palacios (Mexico) and Unai Lauzirika (Germany), the latter, Unai Lauzirika, elected as alternate of Aitor Arruti by the Basque Clubs themselves.

At the meeting an assessment of what has happened since the board’s last meeting was done, as well as passing of a Four-Year Plan.
