Buenos Aires, Argentina.   Encouraged by another new and special anniversary, members and friends of the Centro Navarro are getting ready to enjoy a varied program of activities that will begin this Saturday and will run through Sunday, with the traditional banquet.  According to club sources, the activities are the following:

-Sunday, November 8:   Mass will be held at 11:30am at the club.  There will be Navarran dances in the street in front of the club beginning at 12:30pm, with the participation of the various club dance groups.  AT 1:15pm there will be a huge banquet.  The menu includes: txistorra from Navarre, rice and seafood, ice-cream, and beverages.  There will be a performance by Rocio del Cielo.  Cost of the event is $250 ($150 for children between the ages of 7-12).  RSVPs are due by November 5 by emailing: centronavarroba@yahoo.com.ar.

New Era, with a look to the youth

Even if members of the club are currently dedicated to organizing the 120th anniversary events, looking to the future, the club’s goal is to continue to invite all “children and grandchildren of immigrants from Navarre,” to participate in the club’s activities.  “The idea is to open, and attract people that want to work.  We hope we are on our way.  In fact, dance director, Maria del Mar Alderete, has recently created a parent’s group of dantzaris that wish to become involved and in that way, they can collaborate in activities like that of the community festival.  It was nice to see two mothers dancing along with us when we were kids,” Maria del Pilar Alderete told EuskalKultura.com.
