The Etxepare Basque Institute is looking for a lecturer to teach Basque language and culture at the University of Helsinki

Donostia-San Sebastian. The urgent search is due to the current lecturer’s having to take time off, as published in yesterday Official Bulletin of the Basque Country (EHAA-BOPV) with the hopes of incorporating the new person by January 2019.  Among the requirements the position required a university degree and to also possess the PL3 or its equivalent, as well as level C1 in English.  Those with degrees in Basque philology and Basque Studies, as well as translation and interpretation (Language A: Euskera), as well as PL4 in Euskera will receive priority.

Interested individuals should present a pedagogic project, aligned with the Basque language and culture programming, a reduced syllabus for first level Basque indicating objectives, contents, methodology, resources and motioning the bibliography to be used for classes. As well as a reduced program for the different subjects of Basque culture (literature, film, theater, sculpture…), to be presented also indicating objectives, contents, methodology, resources, mentioning the bibliography that will also be used for classes, all written in Basque.

The application period opens on Wednesday November 21.
