Portugalete, Bizkaia. Today is September 8th, Day of the Basque Diaspora, and as promised, Singer Joseba Gotzon has published "Urrundik" on his social media, that he wrote recognizing and in thanks to our Diaspora. The singer from Portugalete has a strong relationship with Basques outside of the Basque Country, and especially with Basque communities in Latin America with a large number of his tours abroad including concerts at Basque clubs, or in collaborating with them. His song, “Urrundik” (from afar) evokes the Argentine Basque club of the same name and through it he pays homage to the entire Basque Diaspora.
The backup singers on the song includes many voices of people in the Diaspora from Argentina, Begoña Tisera, María Silva Soloaga, Carolina Bravo, Sabrina Otegui, Valeria Aramburu and Juan Carlos Borrás; from Brazil, Ederson Otharan, Juliana Batista and a group from the Eusko Brasildar Etxea with Oskar Goitia, María Cecilia Medina, José Pérez and Dunia Karolina Salazar; from Cuba, Odalys Echevarria; from Japan, Hidenao Dohino; from Mexico, Nancy Romano Echavarria, Haizea Elizondo Gorroño and students from thel UNAM Euskara Irakurletza; from Uruguay, María Noel Abella Aiscar and Federica Zieleniec; from Chile, Angel Espinoza and Carmilla Karnstein; from Colombia, Iker Guillermo López.
