If you play a traditional instrument at your Basque club, this is a chance to progress and take new steps in your knowledge, all while visiting Euskadi accompanied by youth from other countries, visiting the country and taking part in a unique course, with professional musicians and professors that will no doubt impact your musical vision. Gaztemundu is free, and will take place September 2-17, 2017.  Deadline to apply is June 5^th, why don’t you apply? 

Vitoria-Gasteiz.   Don’t miss out.  This is really a unique opportunity that won’t be repeated.  Two weeks in the Euskadi, visiting and getting to know the country, accompanied by other youth from Basque clubs all over the world who may share your dreams, problems and concerns.  You will attend classes and session related to Basque music, dance music and the most traditional instruments.  If you have any doubts about your qualifications, or if your instrument doesn´t appear on the list, don’t hesitate to call or email the Delegation of Euskadi that corresponds to your country (see here) or directly contact with Vitoria-Gasteiz by calling: +34  945 018139 / +34 945 017895 or by emailing: jm-meaurio@euskadi.

You don’t have to be a virtuoso.  What matters is what you do, your commitment to your Basque club, providing life music to your dance group or the work that you will do when you return, taking back with you all that you have learned and will share with your club members.

Some of the conditions for participants follow:

-Be between the ages of 18-35
-Be a member of a Basque club for at least 3 years
-Not have participated in a prior Gaztemundu since 2003
-Play an instrument and send a two-minute video displaying your skills in relation to the accredited instrument
