Buenos Aires, Argentina. There are only 10 days left till the end of the year and Basque institutions in South America are concluding their activities, in the majority of cases, to take a rest before beginning another year and a new cycle. Before summer break, some Basque clubs in Argentina and Uruguay will welcome a visit of the Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu.
Alvarez visited South America for a very few days last month to attend Semana Nacional Vasca 2019 in Bahia Blanca. Now the Director of the Basque Community Abroad returned to continue touring clubs, just remember that the number of Basque clubs in Argentina and Uruguay far outnumber 100. He will also meet with FEVA and FIVU as well as with other representatives and members of local Basque clubs. From December 11th, Alvarez Aranburu visited the clubs in José C. Paz, Pergamino, and Arrecifes.
Returning to Buenos Aires, and meeting with the FEVA Basque Argentine Federation, he participated, along with Sara Pagola, in a toast to Basque institutions in Buenos Aires where he also made contact with the Lagun Onak Choir and the Denak Bat Camerata, two Basque institutions that he had not met yet. In the capital city, he also gave a talk at Eusketxe, Eusko Kultur Etxea Center of Basque Culture and attended the end of year party at the Laurak Bat Basque Club and that of the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea. The tour ended in the Uruguayan capital where Alvarez met with references of various local clubs, not all of which are part of FIVU.
