Google honors the record jump by Basque-Chilean Alberto Larraguibel, 64 years later

On February 5, Google registered a picture of the jump by Basque-Chilean Alberto Larraguibel on the cover of its search engine in honor of the world record set in Viña del Mar in 1949, a record that still holds. Larraguibel and his horse, called Huaso, jumped a fence measuring 2.47 meters, a height that still has to be beat.

Valparaiso, Chile. The famed search engine, Google, honored the historic jump by Alberto Larraguibel, 64 years after the Chilean of Basque ancestry achieved this historic record in Viña del Mar.

Larraguibel made the jump of 2.47 meters on the back of Huaso, a horse that was away from racing and trained for two years.  The record also has the prestige of having been set on the third attempt, which demonstrates the great mastery of Larraguibel to calm and control his horse.
