The festival ran for two weekends and provided the public musical shows with dancing, games and entertainment, a various gastronomic offering at the booths manned by representatives of twelve communities. With typical dishes, herri kirolak and a large group of dantzaris, the local Mendiko Eusko Etxea Basque club was the pillar of this event that is organized annually in this important touristic destination in Patagonia.
Bariloche, Argentina. The 35 edition of the Festival of European-Argentine Collectivities in Bariloche took place on November 8, 9, 15 and 16 at the Danish Club’s facilities. The venue once again gathered representatives from the Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Swiss, Danish, Portuguese, Austrian, Hungarian, Slovak, Croatian, Basque, and for the first time, the Celtic communities.
The participation of the Mendiko Eusko Etxea Basque club was impressive in various aspects. Not only did they take part organizing the event, in meetings that took place throughout the year, but they also developed an outstanding program. Needless to say that their strong presence on stage, with a large dance group of all ages, as well as entertainment, as well as exhibiting and inviting the public to participate in herri kirolak; as well, of course, as their food stand, that provided various Basque food specialties.
Hector Graña, member of the club, explained in a conversation with EuskalKultura.com, that they were very satisfied with the results of the event and as in prior editions, “it only reaffirms that the working group continues to grow.”
