Madrid, Spain.  On April 5^th, the final of the Basque Short Film Contest was held at the Basque club with a gala and awards ceremony that gathered many members and Basque students at the event. 

Five films, out of the ten entries were chosen.  The selected films are the following with the language level of the creators indicated in parentheses.

-"Ez izan goroldio!" (mintza)
-"Mutil eta neska zaharraren ezkontza" (1st)
-"Sesamo auzoko txapeldunak" (3rd)
-"Lan ona" (4th)
-"Kolpearen astea "(6th)

Winners from Sesame Street 

The winning short was Sesamo auzoko txapledunak, with Mutil eta neska zaharraren ezkontza (The Marriage of the Bachelor and the Old Maid) receiving honorable mention.  The winning film will participate in an international contest organized by HABE of short films made by Basque students in Basque clubs around the world.

The jury included actor Joxean Bengoetxea («Celda 211», «Balada triste de trompeta»… or Antena3 TV series «Amar es para siempre»); Xabier Iriondo, professional in the area of audiovisual; and Kinku Zinkunegi, HABE.  The day concluded with a Basque music concert by Ander Garcia.
