The local Basque club will celebrate its first 50 years at the end of this month and wishes to do so with due importance.  The main events will be on the same day of the anniversary, on February 28th, and will consist in a talk on Basque culture and a ceremony that will gather authorities, members, former club presidents and will also elect the flag bearers of the institution. 

Gral. Acha, Argentina.  The Euzko Txokoa in Gral. Acha is an institution that has been very active and has greatly contributed to its community.  With its remodeled venue with air conditioning, a fronton and gym, the sporting events have become the base of the club and have also become a valuable contribution to its surrounding community.

With just days away from celebrating its first half-century, club directors wish to invite everyone to get to know the culture of the Basque Country, and so have invited Mikel Ezkerro to give a talk at their anniversary festivities.  Besides the talk, there will also be a ceremony that neighboring clubs have been invited to, as well as founding members, former presidents, friends and families of founding members and the Regional Queen of the Veal, “La Yerra and Pial” festival.  During the event, for the very first time, the institution’s flag bearers will also be chosen, and will include a representative of the club's swimmers, pelotaris and a basketball playesr, the star activities at the Euzko Txokoa.

According to club president Osvaldo Videla who spoke to EuskalKultura.com, “the main goal of the anniversary is to take advantage of the gathering to introduce the Basque culture which was the singular motive for creating the club on February 28, 1965, in the home of Francisco Galarraga.  That is why we have invited professor Ezkerro, because we haven’t workes out this aspect of our culture for a long time and we think it has to be a very important part of our task.”

The event will begin at 9:30am.  Other activities planned for the anniversary include a local Pelota Paleta tournament on March 1 and the club will also participate in the 43rd edition of the Provincial Veal, “La Yerra and Pial” festical, on May 1st
