The Bizkaian Company, Alianzo, has developed the game “Euskal Quiz,” in a app for smartphones with questions about Basque towns and geography.  Anyone able to correctly answer questions on culture, food, history, spots or Basque towns and places, can become the mayor, and the person with the most correct answers can become the virtual “Lehendakari.” The app is free and is in Basque. 

Donostia-San Sebastian.  How much do you know about towns in the Basque Country, its culture, history, food….? The Euskal Quiz app, developed by Alianzo, is for Google and Apple, and will test you with a game that includes more than 600 questions over 40 towns in the Basque Country.

The premise is easy: every player chooses a town and answers 10 random questions.  If you answer correctly then you are then named the mayor of that town.  Players can continue to become the mayor of various towns until they reach the title of deputy general of each territory, and finally become the virtual Lehendakari.

The app is free and available on Google Play for Android and on iTunes for iPhones.  The goal of the game is to promote knowledge of the Basque language and Euskadi for which it has received the support of the Provincial Government of Bizkaia and the Basque Government.
