The Euskal Jatorri Basque club in Posadas celebrated its first decade with mass and a ceremony that gathered friends that have accompanied the institutions during these ten years.  During the event diplomas were presented to its founding members, and former presidents Joaquin Basconcel and Marta Sarasola were also both honored.

Posadas, Argentina.  The program of activities for the Euskal Jatorri Basque club’s 10th anniversary took place on September 2nd and consisted of a mass and a cocktail hour.  Mass was celebrated by Bizkaian priest, Ignacio Tomas Juan Villar Iturriaga at the Parish of Blessed Martyrs in the capital city.  Later, Basque club members and friends gathered at the Italian Society presided by Hugo Mazzanti.

During the event, members of the board of directors presented diplomas to thirty of its forty-seven founders, or to family members in the case of deceased members.  The diplomas were recognition for the work that they had done to establish the club.  In the same way, former club presidents, Joaquin Basconcel and Marta Sarasola were also honored and presented plaques.

Dantzaris Mariángeles Rosciani and Mauro Matheu performed Basque dances for the audience.  Authorities from the Italian Society also attended the event, as well as representatives of the Logia Roque Perez and members of the board of the Ministry of Ecology.  Proceeds from the event will now enable the club to donate a TV to the local pediatric hospital.

Euskal Jatorri was officially recognized by the Basque Government in 2008 and in 2010, it became part of the centers associated with FEVA.  During this decade, it has guaranteed the diffusion of the Basque culture locally, as well as in the surrounding area, through various activities including participation in community fairs, and hosting a Basque film series annually with the collaboration of Carlos Gabilondo.  Currently, it is also sharing news about its activities on Facebook: Centro Vasco Misiones.
