Three days have passed since “Buenos Aires Celebrates” took place and people are still talking about what a wonderful time they had on Sunday. And they will continue to do so for weeks, now that the Basque community gathered in the city center and provided a wonderful cultural show to pay tribute to the past and present of Euskal Herria. Despite the weather, or maybe because of it, each participant completed his/her task with vigor, from the dantzaris to the musicians on stage, to the cooks in the booths or Basques athletes of all ages. Second photo report of “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country 2014.”

Buenos Aires, Argentina.  For many attendees it was the first time to test the typical Basque stereotypes first hand.  For others, each proposal was a novelty.  Whatever the case, the goal of the BAC is to introduce the culture of Euskal Herria to locals, and on Sunday the achieved and exceeded that.

Las Heras has become a reference for Basque rural sports.  That is why they were the ones in charge of organizing the championships.  The competitions included chopping logs with an ax (Aizkora or Aizkol Jokoa) or with a chain saw which caught the attention of those present (photoEuskalKultura.com)]
