“Buenos Aires Celebrates,” is almost here: the mega Basque expo is on May 6th just steps away from the Casa Rosada

The festival “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country (BAC) will once again convert the Avenida de Mayo in an authentic Basque showcase with the participation of local Basque clubs as well as others from the interior.  The activity is sponsored by the city with the organization of Laurak Bat. Confirmed participants form the Basque Country include the Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, and Jasone Agirre from the Basque Parliament, along with representatives of Gure Esku Dago.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The Laurak Bat Basque Club and FEVA, along with a dozen Basque clubs from the area, as well as the interior of the country will again gather for the latest edition of the “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country” Festival.  The collaboration of clubs and other institutions allows them to provide their neighbors a varied panorama, complete with Basque culture present in Argentina, providing first-hand testimonies of activities including music and song, dance, food, rural sports, language and a selection of Basque publications, everything “Made in Argentina.” The event will take place on May 6th beginning at noon.

Sponsored by the City of Buenos Aires, the “Buenos Aires Celebrates” hopes to pay tribute to the communities that coexist in the capital city, as well as provide them a space to introduce others to their cultural expressions.  The celebration dedicated to the Basques is co-organized by the Laurak Bat Basque Club and is attended by numerous Basque club and entities, as well as Basque groups form the center of the country.

New items in this 2018 edition include, for the younger set, a puppet show performed by BagaBiga.  Following is a list of participants in the 2018 BAC:
