Boise State University offers Ph.D. assistantships in the area of Engineering for Basque students

Boise State University (BSU) has announced a new edition of the Basque Ph.D. Scholarships, assistantships for Basque students. Grants are for one year, in which students may pursue a Ph.D. in this University The scholarships range between $18,000-$25,000 and include full tuition. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2015.

Boise, USA. Boise State University's (BSU) Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechanical and Biomedical, Geoscience and Computer Science Departments are proud to announce that in a partnership with the BSU Basque Studies Program and the Boise Basque Museum & Cultural Center they will again offer scholarships to qualified applicants to pursue a Master or Ph.D. degree at Boise State.

The scholarship, officially known as an assistantship, will provide monetary compensation in the range $18,000-$25,000 per year to allow the student to cover living expenses. It will also provide full payment of tuition costs

Boise is home to a large population of Basques. The BSU Basque Studies Program and the Basque Museum & Cultural Center will coordinate members of the community to welcome the scholars to the city by inviting them to dinners, gatherings, and other events in the area.

Outstanding applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Licenciatura, or expect to complete it by August 2015, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Geoscience,  are encouraged to apply. Candidates should submit

  • the application form,
  • three letters of recommendation,
  • unofficial transcripts, and
  • a statement of research interests

by 15 March 2015. Application materials should be submitted electronically to Boise State at <PeterMullner@boisestate.edu> with the subject line "Basque PhD Scholarship". Notification of awardees is expected by 1 May 2015.
