This Friday, October 30, Sueños, hechos…y palabras (Dreams, deeds and words), an anthology of poetry will be presented in Basque and Spanish.  The book is the fruit of a project carried out by SADE (Argentina’s Society of Writers) in Chivilcoy and the local Basque club and gathers texts from Chivilcoyan authors.  The presentation will take place at the clubhouse and will be attended by Uruguayan Basque teacher, Andrea Bella, who translated the poems.

Chivilcoy, Argentina.   The joint effort of Beti Aurrera and the SADE writer’s society resulted in the publication of the book Sueños, hechos… y palabras, an anthology that gathers texts by local authors in both Spanish and Basque.

As the club president Luis Goicochea told EuskalKultura.com, “the project was presented by SADE in March and later after being approved from the club’s board of directors, we started working with the Euskera group, along with Nidia Ibañez, and professor, Marta Invernoz.  The translation of the poems was done by Andrea Bella, teacher in Uruguay.  It is a dream of both institutions that has come true, and one that was very important for us all, as Basques try to always share the language of our ancestors in what we offer the community.”

Published by Plap, the publication is 90 pages long that includes the original work of local poets, free, brief with their corresponding Basque translation.  According to Martha Geve Cleci, president of SADE, “it was a hard task to choose the texts from all the entries received; and in many cases we chose, and in many times along with the authors the poems that seemed to fit best into this anthology.”

Sueños, hechos… y palabras  will be presented this Friday the 30th at 21:00 at the Beti Aurrera clubhouse located on Palemon Huergon 73.  Authors, and translator of the work, Andrea Bella will be in attendance.  Each writer will receive a copy of the book and some copies will also be sent to the Basque Country and other will be sold locally.  Anyone interested should get in touch  with SADE Chivilcoy or with the Basque club.
