Thanks to the scholarship “Goazen Txinara/Let’s go to China,” supported by the artistic study of Beijing MA Studio and in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute, Alain Urrutia, painter from Bilbao, has had the opportunity to spend several months working in China. Now his exhibit will open in Beijing, where he will show some of the work completed during his stay. The show will open this Friday and can be seen through June. It is the first exhibit by an individual participating in this program.

Beijing, China. According to the Etxepare Basque Institute, Alain Urrutia, painter from Bilbao, will have a solo exhibit in the EGG Gallery after his participation in the artistic scholarship program “Goazen Txinara/Let’s go to China.” The scholarships are also supported by the Etxepare Basque Institute.

Urrutia is the first artist from this program to offer a solo exhibit in Beijing since other participants from previous years all did joint exhibits. The exposition is entitled “Gazing Again” and will show several of the works he completed during his stay at the MA Studio in Beijing while on scholarship. It will include large format paintings as well as smaller format ones.

The inauguration will take place this Friday at 3 p.m. at the EGG Gallery (#327, Chaoyang neighborhood). It will remain open until June 27, 2013.
