The Euskel Biotza Basque Club in Roldan had a very busy month of May with participating in the Dantzari Get-Together in Chivilcoy, doing a presentation at the local Fair of Communities, as well as visiting the delegation of the Basque Government in Puerto Madero.  Even if they are disappointed in not being able to attend “Buenos Aires Celebrates,” they were there with their fabric full of wishes and desires.

Roldan, Argentina.   The Euskel Biotza had made great strides in regards to its community involvement and strengthening ties with other institutions there during its first year. The young Basque club has announced that the weekend of May 16-17 they participated in the Dantzari Get-Together organized by the Beti Aurrera Basque club in Chivilcoy.

The activity proposed by the club consisted in an open Basque dance class provided jointly by the dantzaris of the two institutions and aimed at the entire community.  At night, the dancing continued as part of a taberna, where there was also food service.  To conclude the event, dance groups gathered on Sunday afternoon at the Plaza 25 de Mayo to share Basque dance with the community.  “It was a beautiful trip, the people at Beti Aurrera made us feel at home.  We think that it is the beginning of a great friendship,” Gabriela Menghi, member of Euskel Biotza, told EuskalKultura.com.

According to the month’s program, May 23 the Roldan Basque club took to the stage at the local Fair of Communities.  The dancing made the festival complete with dantzaris from the age of 1 to 33.  The Basque club was very satisfied with “the very positive repercussion the event had, which resulted in new dantzaris, of all ages, joining the group.”

To conclude May’s agenda, members of the board of directors visited the Delegation of Euskadi in Argentina-Mercosur to meet with delegate Sara Pagola.  At the end of the meeting, they visited Laurak Bat to watch an Athletic match along with Pagola and other club members.
