ROGER JEAN ARDUAIN
April 15, 1948 – May 19, 2026
The family of Roger Jean Arduain is saddened to announce he passed away at the age of 78. He was the 9th child born in Ossés, France to Eugene & Marie Arduain on April 15, 1948. He died in Bayonne, France on May 19, 2026 while visiting his home country and many beloved family members.
Roger immigrated to the United States in 1968 to San Francisco, CA to join several of his brothers and join his fellow Basque immigrants in learning to appreciate & live the many American opportunities. In 1972 he married Elizabeth Ansolabehere and moved to Bakersfield, CA.
He loved tending to his flower gardens and feeding birds! He was passionate about his family and his adorable pets.
Roger is survived by his wife Elizabeth, son Alain & daughter in law (Sarah), siblings; Ben (Erin), Andre (Anita), Jeannot Duhalde (Katine), Bernadette Duhart, Maitecha Artiquibelle, Gracie Iribarren and His beloved brother in Laws Ben Ansolabehere (Kim) & Michel Ansolabehere. Also many beloved nieces, & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie & Eugene Arduain, Marie Duhalde, and Several Arduain & Duhalde brothers. Also his mother in law Angela Ansolabehere and brother-in laws Henri Duhart, Pierre Artiquibelle, and Benat Iribarren.
Rosary is at 9:30 am and Mass is at 10am at St Francis Church, 900 H St, Bakersfield, CA, June 19th; Burial to follow at Historic Union Cemetery, 730 Potomac Ave.
