Born in Elantxobe, Bizkaia, in 1923, Amaia Renteria Aurrekoetxea, widow of José María Bengoa Lekanda and a member of the Basque-Venezuelan community, passed away in Algorta on August 16, 2025, at the age of 102.
Her children, Amaia, José Mari, Rafael, Argi, Íñigo, and Jon (✟); her children-in-law, Jorge Gergoff, Jonquille Pfister, Inmaculada Terrero, Josu Loroño, Corina Piera, and Igone San Sebastián; her grandchildren, Amaia, Gorka, Virginia, Natascha, Miren, Daphne, Xabier, Joana, Christian, Alain (✟), Ander, Alain, Mikel, Iker, Eneko, and Naia; Grandchildren-in-law, great-grandchildren, siblings, siblings-in-law, nephews, cousins, other family members, and Nhora Ávila share their condolences and invite you to a prayer and the funeral Mass, which will be held this Tuesday, August 19th, at 6:00 p.m., in the parish church of San Nicolás de Bari in Elantxobe.
A funeral Mass will be held on Sunday, August 24th, at 12:30 p.m., in the parish church of La Santísima Trinidad–PPRR Trinitarios de Algorta (6 San Martín Street). on Sunday, August 17th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Enalta Algorta Funeral Home (Sarria Funetxea), Algortako Etorbidea, 69, Getxo.
