Juan Brana has died on Monday February 8, 2016 in Reno, Nevada.

Juan was born on April 9, 1959 in Almandoz, Navarre and emigrated young to the United States, working first in Idaho, as sheepherder, to settle later in Reno, where he began working in construction and the place he formed a family and he have died yesterday. He was a person well known in the Basque West, particularly among the fans of Basque rural sports, herri kirolak, because he was an aizkolari, as his daughter Stephanie is. He took part in many festivals, exhibitions and competitions, specially in Nevada and California.

A few years ago he was diagnosed with a type of cancer and he has been able to go ahead, with better and worse times, although doctors recommended him not to take the ax.

To his daughters, Stephanie and Amaia, his wife, family and many friends our deepest condolences.
