Bertrand "Bert" Fredrick Ithurburn, a lifelong resident of Yuba City, CA, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at 68.
He was born on December 18, 1957, in Susanville, CA, and moved to Yuba City, CA, as a child, where he attended Holy Angels Elementary School and Yuba City High School.
After graduating from UC Davis and McGeorge School of Law, Bert returned to Yuba City and built both his life and career in the place he proudly called home.
Bert dedicated his professional life to serving others as a respected attorney in Yuba City.
Known for his integrity and thoughtful counsel, he earned the trust of colleagues and community members alike over many years of practice.
Above all, Bert was a devoted father and grandfather.
Bert was an active parishioner of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and active in the Yuba-Sutter Basque Community.ç
Bert enjoyed trying new recipes, tending to his yard, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Raiders.
He is survived by his four children, Michelle Landreth of Yuba City, Christina Ithurburn of Laguna Beach, CA, Bertrand Ithurburn of Tucson, AZ, and Bob Ithurburn, of Yuba City, CA; and six grandchildren, who were the center of his life and brought him immense pride and joy. His legacy lives on through them.
He will be remembered for his steady presence and his deep love for his family and community.
A memorial service will be held at St. Isidore's Catholic Church on May 20, 2026, at 11 AM, followed by a burial at the Sutter Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA 95991.
