Rubén Arrieta Vilá, a member of the Puerto Rico Basque Club ('Vascos en Puerto Rico Inc.) and for years vice president of the institution, passed away in San Juan at the age of 85 on March 28, 2021.

His grandparents emigrated from Irurita (Baztan Valley, Navarre), and he was an active member of the local Basque association and had been one of its representatives in different World Congresses of Basque Communities.

Professionally, Rubén was a renowned journalist. The Puerto Rican press has published and commented his death.

Doluminak, our condolences to his wife Amy Jaunarena, their four children and eight grandchildren, to other family and friends, as well as to those who make up the Basque community in Puerto Rico.
