Ricardo San Mamés López, 73,  passed away in San Francisco on April 8, 2025.

Born in the Basque city of Portugalete (Bizkaia) on April 3, 1952, Ricardo emigrated to the United States with his family when he was young by way of Nicaragua and seattled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Along with his brother Juan José and family, he was an active member of the local Basque community and a promoter of its cultural and sporting legacy.
