12/21/2021 - Boise, Idaho, USA

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Miren Lolley, 74, of Boise, ID. Miren passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center on December 22, 2021, after a recent struggle with COPD, pneumonia, and cancer.

On May 13, 1947, Miren was born in Boise to Basque parents, Anna and Segundo Nachiondo. Because Miren's mother worked outside of the home, Miren developed a very special bond with her maternal grandmother, Amuma Santa Uberuaga who babysat Miren and her cousin, Frank, during their youth. Miren later married Bruce Lolley in 1970, and the couple soon produced two beloved sons, Pat and Adam Lolley. Adam, in turn, has blessed Miren with two grandsons—the apples of her eye— Isaac and Aaron, who live in Bainbridge Island, WA.

After graduating in 1968 with an Associates of Science degree from Boise Junior College, Miren pursued a promising career in Information Technology, one which spanned 45 years. She began her career at Ore-Ida Foods in 1968 and retired from the J. R. Simplot Company in 2013. During her remarkable career, Miren rose to become the General Manager of Ore-Ida's IT department. While at the Simplot Food Group, she helped to lead critical system implementation efforts. Her keen insight and level-headed approach to business earned her the respect and friendship of many.

After retiring, Miren immersed herself in the activities of her lifelong Boise church, Our Lady of the Rosary, where she attended daily Mass and volunteered weekly. She also volunteered weekly at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Boise.

Miren was predeceased by her parents: Segundo and Anna Nachiondo; ex-husband: Bruce Lolley; and aunts and uncles: Ladio, Helen, Frank, Mary, and Phillip. She is survived by sons: Pat (Boise) and Adam Lolley (Bellevue, WA); grandchildren: Isaac and Aaron (Bainbridge Island, WA); and many beloved cousins and special friends. The family would like to express special appreciation to Judy Bedal, Miren's cousin, who stepped in to manage the sale of Miren's home, as well as Miren's relocation and medical care over the past year.

All are invited to attend Miren's funeral services at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 1500 E. Wright Street, in Boise, ID. On Wednesday night, 12/29/21, a visitation and rosary service will be held at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Miren's funeral service and Mass will be held at the church at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 12/30/21. All are invited to attend a funeral luncheon in the church hall following the funeral service. Burial will follow at the Morris Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Thursday. (The church is large enough to easily accommodate social distancing.) Cloverdale Funeral Home will be handling funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Basque Museum of Boise or St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho, organizations which Miren felt strongly about.
