Martin Chiramberro died peacefully at home on September 21, 2016 with family by his side. He was born in St. Michel (Eiheralarre) in the Basque Country on March 1, 1932. Martin is survived by Michelle Chiramberro, his loving wife for more than 48 years, his proud son Jean-Luc Chiramberro (Caroline), and his precious granddaughter, Mailen. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Chiramberro and his beloved brother Manech. Also survived by his brother Jean-Pierre and twin siblings, Jacques (Christiane) and Jeanne Ohyagaray (Jean) and nephews and nieces here in the United States and in France. Martin was a veteran of the Algerian war, a sheepherder in Miles City, Montana for 9 years, and a dedicated gardener in San Francisco for over 50 years. Martin loved and cared for his family intensely. He was an honest, gentle father and husband and carried himself with integrity and class. 
 
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Kaiser doctors & nurses as well as our private caregivers. Your dedication, compassion, and support while taking care of Martin will never be forgotten. Services will be held at St. Monica's Church in San Francisco, 470 24th Avenue on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016. The rosary will begin at 6:30 P.M. followed by a Funeral Mass. A private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
