Euzkal Etxea San Nicolas is in mourning:

Our dear friend, Mariquita Domenech, a unique woman, a Basque "Miss Fisher", a woman who knew how to break stereotypes, has left this plane. She was an engineer and head of Somisa in years with no woman in those positions, brave, strong, intelligent, a beautiful person! I keep in my heart every word and advice you gave me, it was beautiful meeting you and I had a lot of fun with your acid humor and your frontality. Goian bego, ez adiorik bihotzeko lagun maitea.

-----------

Not without fighting, you left this world. Admirable woman, very hard-working, a Basque of Law. Strong and very brave! But above all things an excellent person, noble and generous. We surely fall short. You leave a void that is difficult to fill. We will remember you for your joy, your sayings, anecdotes and activity. The time has come for you to rest. Goodbye Dear Marikita! Goian bego, Marikita maitia!

Javier Tisera writes:

To Mariquita Domenech

She was ant and hammer; atomically laborious. She always had a task. Mariquita was a doctor in chemistry who directed the destinies of the Somisa Laboratory. She was used to driving and handling in a man's world. She was furiously sincere for such a hypocritical world. Loyal to unsuspected limits. Relentless regarding discussions or holding positions. She did not stop supporting any of Euzkal Etxea's initiatives: Basque student; kitchen assistant (peppers were her specialty) and member of the choir. And the first of the women to be part of the UTT (Union of Red Wine Drinkers) founded by Eduardo Galardi. The death of Mariquita Domenech brings mourning to the Basque community and the flock of the Pompei Parish community. When we return from quarantine to the Basque Center; we will feel her absence; because her presence was noticed when she entered Belgrano 139.
