Luciano 'Louie' Echegaray Jr (Ely, April 16, 1959-March 29, 2022)

Luciano Echegaray JR. passed away March 29, 2022 in Riverton, Utah, he was 62 years old. Louie was born April 16, 1959 in Ely, Nevada to Luciano Echegaray SR and Jean Hiatt.

Louie graduated from White Pine High School in 1977. He then went to work for NDOT, where he eventually retired. Louie got bored not long after retirement and started working for Robison Mine in Ruth, NV. In Louie’s younger days, he loved to go cave exploring and was even part of the group that found a prehistoric short faced bear. Louie also loved to travel, ride his motorcycle, play golf, listen to music, and most importantly spend time with family. He also had a deep love for his country and served in the army national guard and was deployed to Operation Desert Storm. In May of 1983, Louie married Connie Botielho and together they had 2 children, (Barbara and Joseph). After Connie passed away, Louie married Betty Leibhardt and he gained 4 more children, (Harold JR, Jayden, Tim and Wade). Later on he met Sherri Wease and her children (Levi, Sam, and Amanda) and they spent the last several years together.

Luciano is survived by his wife Sherri, his children, Barbara (Beau) Roberts, Joseph Echegaray, Harold Robertson, Jayden Robertson, Tim (Salene) Robertson, Wade (Marisa) Wilkinson, Levi (Kara) Garcia, Sam Garcia, Amanda Garcia. His grandchildren Kayden, Ari, Brenden, Brianna, Taylor, Tavix, Keeley, Natasha, Everest, Bentley, Idyn, and Chase, and his brother Juan (Raejean) Echegaray.

He is preceded in death by his parents Luciano Echegaray Sr and Jean Hiatt, brother Rick, wives Connie and Betty.

A Viewing and rosary will be held April 11, 2022 at 7pm at mountain vista chapel in Ely, NV. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held April 12, 2022 at 10am at the Sacred heart Catholic Church in Ely, NV with graveside services to follow. There will be a luncheon following the services at the St Lawrence hall.

We would like to thank Utah Cancer Specialist and Elevation Hospice for their wonderful care for dad.
