John Joseph Urresti passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, followed by a reception.  Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.

John was born November 17,1948 to Frank and Ann Urresti at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho.  He was the beloved brother of Dan, Kathy, Jane and Joan.  He attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school, St. Teresa’s Academy, Bishop Kelley High School, and Boise State University.  He was a proud member of an outstanding Boise State track team and held records for the quarter mile and anchor leg of the mile relay for several years.  His children loved to say their dad was “fast as the wind.”

John married Bonnie Abel in 1977 in Boise.  Although that marriage did not endure, John’s pride and joy came from the birth of their four children, Frankie, Molly, Danny and Johnny.  John’s role as a parent took precedence over all other aspects of his life.

John was full of life, had a contagious smile, quick wit, and befriended pretty much everyone he ever met.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ann, and his beloved son, Danny.  He is survived by Frankie, Molly, Johnny, his two granddaughters, Bailey and Piper and friend, Heidi Bangerter.

In lieu of flowers, John’s wish was that donations be made to a college fund for his grandchildren.  Donations can be made via Zelle® through maurresti24@yahoo.com or will graciously be accepted the day of the service at the church.
