Anita Maria (Solosabal) Dick (October 30, 1938 - June 16, 2023)

06/16/2023 - Boise, Idaho, USA

Anita Maria Dick, age 84 of Boise, died at Cornerstone Memory Care surrounded by her loving family, Friday June 16, 2023, after a courageous battle with dementia.

The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 10th at 10:00 AM at St. Mark's Catholic Church 7960 W. Northview St in Boise. The Rev. Paul O'Donnell will preside. A reception lunch will follow at Cloverdale Funeral Home Event Center. After the reception, graveside services will be held at Morris Hill Cemetery under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.

Anita was born on October 30, 1938, in Boise, the daughter of Joe and Carmen Solosabal. Anita was an active member of the Basque Community and enjoyed all her heritage traditions. She graduated from St. Teresa's Academy and went on to earn an X-Ray Technician Degree.

Anita met and married Don Dick in 1960. The couple moved to California the day after their wedding and returned to Boise in 1969 to raise their family. They were married for 39 wonderful years ending with her being his caregiver during his battle with cancer.

Anita always found much solace in her perpetual faith. She was a very devout Catholic and a member of St. Mark's church since the early 70's. She was honored to be a Eucharistic Minister. Her undying faith carried her through to her final moments.

Anita's talents were many and she was always thrilled to see her name in the paper that highlighted her successes. She was an accomplished tennis player, bowler, and golfer. With each sport she played, her teammates became cherished, life-long friends.

Anita's most outstanding gift was her love for her grandchildren. She never passed up an opportunity to spend time with them or support them in any endeavor. She was an extraordinary Amuma, our Mumes.

Anita is survived by her children, son Dave (Dina) Dick, daughter Chris Cate, and daughter Cathy (Ryan) Shelby, and grandchildren Tyler and Jared Dick, Lucas Cate, Adam and Megan Shelby. She is also survived by her sister Bea Clark, two sisters-in-law Rosalie (Dan) Clement and Judy (Dennis) Ludwig and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Dick, her parents and many close friends.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Cornerstone Memory Care especially Teresa "Momma T" Finerson for her love and compassion in the care of Anita.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anita's memory may be made to the Basque Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
