Albert Garispe
Albert Garispe (Ainhoa, July 27, 1935 - Chino, December 17, 2022)

12/17/2022 - Chino, California, USA

Albert Garispe passed away at the age of eighty-seven on Saturday December 17, 2022, in Chino, CA.

He was born on July 27, 1935, in Ainhoa, France to Tristan and Catherine Garispe and was the fifth of eleven children.

As a young man, he served in the French Army in Algeria. After his service in the army, he immigrated to California in 1962.

In 1965, he went back to France and met his future wife, Conchita Mindeguia. They were married in 1966 and he returned with her to California where they raised three children, Jackie, Bernadette, and Mike.

Albert worked as a chef at several different restaurants throughout his life. Most notably, he worked at the Pyrenees French & Basque Restaurant in Chino for over twenty years until the restaurant closed. He then worked at the Cock-A-Doodle Restaurant in Chino for eighteen years until he retired at the age of seventy-nine. He loved the people he worked with at both restaurants and talked about them often in his last years.

But more than anything, he loved his family. Spending time with his grandchildren and siblings and extended family brought him joy. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and talking to people.

His presence will be deeply missed by all of us who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, children and two grandchildren, Andy and Amanda. He is also survived by his brother Louis Garispe; brother and sister-in-law, Antoine and Grace Garispe; sister Sabine Suzanne; brother and sister-in-law, Amedee and Marcella Garispe; brother Jean Garispe; sister and brother-in-law Marie and Etienne Amestoy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeannot and Pilar Mocho; sister-in-law Carmen Montero; sisters-in-law, Marie Jeanne Garispe, Claire Garispe, Odette Garispe and Angela Mindeguia and many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Jean Baptiste, Jean Pierre, Jean, and Lucien Garispe; sister-in-law Marie Garispe; brothers-in-law, Jeannot Suzanne, Jose Mindeguia and Juan Montero.
