Mary L. Madariaga White Tom, 91 of Caldwell died of natural causes in a Boise hospital on July 9, 2023.

She was born on April 29, 1932 in Jordan Valley, Oregon to Eulogio (from Ibarrangelua, Bizkaia) and Trinidad (Arriola, from Elantxobe, Bizkaia) Madariaga. 

She was the youngest of 11 children. She grew up and graduated High School in Jordan Valley, She was proud of her Basque heritage. Later in life she visited Spain and she got to see places her Dad had told her stories about. 

She married Norman White on July 9, 1950. They had seven children and lived mostly in Jordan Valley. In 1970 they moved to Murphy. Norman died on October 14, 1976.

Mary bought a home in Nampa in 1979. On October 23,1981 she married Bennie Tom. Their door was always open. There was always coffee and room at the table for one more. If you were LUCKY and visited on days she was making bread, there was fried bread or hot biscuits to enjoy.  Bennie died in November 2015.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings, husbands Norman White and Bennie Tom, daughter Jo Ellen Ineck, grandson Kelly White and son-in-law Michael Minor.

She is survived by her children: Marilyn Minor of Jacksonville FL, Ken White (CJ) of Caldwell, Bill White (Beverly) of Oreana, Jerry White (Terry) of Jordan Valley, Bert White (Bonnie) of Baker City, Denise Baigrie (Ron) of Nampa, and Thomas Ineck of Homedale. Also 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mary will be on July 18, 2023 at Alsips and Persons, 404 10th Ave. South, Nampa at 10 am. A reception of a light lunch will immediately follow. Interment will be at 1 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nampa, South Powerline Road.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Basque Center in Boise or Homedale can be made in the name Mary Madariaga White.
