Grace (Cihigoyenetche) Camino, 97, of Marywood St., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 11, 2026 after a period of declining health. Her husband of 48 years, Juan Camino passed March 6, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter Marie I. Camino with whom she lived; two grandchildren, Evan M. Sloan and his wife Angel of Monterey Park, CA, and Julia C. Sloan and her partner Naci Keskin of Pasadena, CA; two brothers, Raymond and his wife Karen Cihigoyenetche of Camarillo, CA, and Peyo and his wife Gracie Cihigoyenetche of France; her two sisters, Isabel Vergara and her husband Jose Louis, and Annie Sagardoy both of France; a sister-in-law, Annie Cihigoyenetche of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Manach Cihigoyenetche, Jean Louis Cihigoyenetche, and Pierre Cihigoyenetche.
Born in Arneguy, France on April 14, 1928, she was the daughter of Simon and Gracienne (Begue) Cihigoyenetche and emigrated from France to Los Angeles where she lived over 30 years. She has resided in Uxbridge since 2001.
Mrs. Camino was primarily a homemaker, caring for her husband, daughter, and grandchildren over the years. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping around her home and was a skilled seamstress. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Parish in Uxbridge, and of the Chino Basque Club in Chino, California.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 14, at 11 AM in St. Mary Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial with her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery will be at a future date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Chino Basque Club, PO Box 1080, Chino, CA 91708.
