Betty Iriart, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2018, at the age of 84. Betty was born in Chino on February 26, 1934, to Ignacio and Manuela Aguerre.

She was the youngest of three children and loved her life in Chino. While growing up, Betty spent time with her family and siblings, and especially enjoyed playing sports throughout her time at Chino High School until graduating in 1952.

Betty raised three wonderful children while running a business buying and selling calves. She stayed active by playing golf at the El Prado Women’s Golf Club where she fostered loving friendships. Betty belonged to the Southern California Basque Club and Chino Basque Club where she celebrated her culture with lifelong friends. She will be sorely missed at the ticket booth from both clubs. She adored her friends and fondly spoke about her Bunco and Mus nights.

Betty is survived by her children, Cathy Borba, Billy Iriart, and JP Iriart; her son-in-law, Steve Borba; her daughter-in-law, Linda Iriart; her four grandchildren, Andrew, Chris, Jackie, and Christina; and her sisters-in-law, Liz and Angela Aguerre.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 25, at St Elizabeth Ann Seton, 2713 S. Grove Ave., Ontario, CA 91761. Rosary will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by mass at 6:30. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Chino Basque Club Scholarship Fund, 15181 Sierra Bonita Lane, Chino, CA 91710 (please include “in memory of Betty Iriart”).
