Betsy Louise Hauck, born Betsy Louise Echenique, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 82.

Betsy was born on January 1, 1944, in Bakersfield, California, to John Peter Echenique and Ann Echenique (Oberholtzer). A lifelong Bakersfield resident, she attended St. Francis School, graduated from Garces High School, and continued her education at Bakersfield College.

Betsy began her career in the insurance industry, where she met the love of her life, Loren Hauck. Their partnership flourished both personally and professionally, and they shared a happy and devoted marriage until Loren's passing. After many years in the insurance field, Betsy accepted a position with the United States Immigration Department, where she served faithfully for 18 years before retiring.

Betsy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing games, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and doting on her beloved dogs. She was known for her warmth, sense of humor, loyalty, and the genuine care she showed to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Hauck; her parents, John Echenique and Ann Addison; her stepfather, Fred Addison; and her sister, Nancy Ansolabehere.

Betsy is survived by her nephew, John Ansolabehere (Cheri); her nieces, Avon Goyeneche (John) and Alysia Stevens (Brandon); six great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

A celebration of Betsy's life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Southwest in Bakersfield, California.

Betsy will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
