Michael A. Novosel, age 69, passed away on July 30th, 2025.

Born October 8th, 1955, in Burley, Idaho, to Michael E. Novosel & Betty J. Novosel.

Mike’s family moved to Midvale, Utah when he was just a young boy. Here is where he learned his trade as a mechanic from automobiles and ATV’s to heavy equipment.

Mike’s work in the field brought him to Winnemucca, Nevada with Wheeler Machinery, and later with Peter Kiewit & Sons-Gilbert Western Corp.

Here is where he would meet the love of his life, Debra Martin. Mike & Debbie spent 35 years together and married for 32 of those.

Though they had no children together, they both sure loved their 4 legged ones.

His work moved them from Nevada, to Utah, to Nebraska, to Arkansas, and back to Utah, but Nevada is where he wanted to be.

He soon went to work for Cashman Equipment then to Newmont/Nevada Gold Mines where he retired after 19 years of service.

Mike’s favorite hobbies were drag racing, hunting, fishing, shooting squirrels, tinkering on old cars, collecting old bottles and what nots, sitting by the fire and long rides in the side by side.

Mike made friends with all who crossed his path, and would do almost anything for you, even if it meant the shirt off his back, you were one of the lucky ones.

Mike enjoyed family and friends stopping by for a visit and, when it can time for them to leave he’d say “Glad You Got To See Me” that was his way of saying so long and thanks for stopping by.

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael & Betty Novosel.

He is survived by his wife Debra A. Novosel, brothers Joe (Cecilia) Novosel, Robert Novosel, Jim Novosel, sister Karen (Bill) Harris, daughter Danielle (Bart) Lingwall, son Dameon Novosel, granddaughter Makinley Lingwall, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

His presence will be profoundly missed, but fondly remembered by his family, and friends.

A lunch reception to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on October 4th, 2025 at The Martin Hotel from 11am to 1pm.
