Lucie Moustirats passed away peacefully at home in Los Altos, CA on November 21st, 2023 after suffering two strokes within 24 hours. She was 93. She was born in the Basque village of Meharin, France on August 11, 1930 to Pascal and Marianne Menvielle. She immigrated to the USA before her 25th birthday to join her childhood sweetheart, Charles.

They married in San Francisco in 1955 and became lifelong business partners. After owning and operating a gardening business in San Francisco, a Motel in Morgan Hill, an orchard and old growth redwood forest in Santa Cruz as well as rental real estate in San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Mountain View, Lucie and Charles retired to Los Altos. Lucie was a phenomenal chef, an avid gardener and devoted baby-sitter when her grandchildren were young. She was admired for her unwavering loyalty and devotion to her husband of 68 years, her kindness, unfiltered opinion sharing and great appreciation for nature.

She is survived by her daughters Anne-Marie Valero and Isabelle Echeverria (Felix) as well as her 5 grandchildren, Luke, Elena (David), and Rachelle Echeverria and Gianna and Gabriel Valero, as well as many nieces and nephews abroad.

She passed away holding her daughters' hands and believing she would be greeted by Charles, after a brief 3 month gap in their relationship. Charles died on 8/23/23.

Lucie's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Saint Simon Catholic Church, 1860 Grant Rd, Los Altos, CA
